# Consent and Recording Policy

Effective 27 August 2026

AskInstead is operated by Weaveflow LLC, a Wyoming limited liability company.

This policy explains how creators and recipients must use voice, recording, transcripts, and AI processing in AskInstead.

## Creator duties

The creator chooses the questions, recipients, response mode, and recording setting.

The creator must have a lawful reason to ask each question and process each answer.

The creator must obtain any permission required before sending a conversation or enabling recording.

The creator must not use AskInstead for covert surveillance or unlawful sensitive-data collection.

## Recipient notice

The recipient sees who sent the conversation before it starts.

For recorded voice, the recipient sees this notice before voice starts:

**“I agree that AskInstead records this conversation. My answers and the recording go to the organization shown above.”**

For text when the creator keeps a transcript, the recipient sees this notice:

**“I agree that my answers go to the organization shown above. The transcript is kept.”**

When the creator disables recording, the recipient sees this notice:

**“I agree that my answers go to the organization shown above. AskInstead does not record audio.”**

The recipient must select the consent control before the conversation starts.

## Voice, transcript, and AI processing

AskInstead sends voice to its voice provider to conduct the conversation and create a transcript.

AskInstead uses AI providers to ask relevant follow-ups, summarize answers, and extract requested fields.

The creator receives the applicable answers, transcript, recording, summary, and fields.

## Anonymous test conversations

Use sample information in a free test. Audio recording starts off; voice processing and transcripts still work.

The start page shows the recording setting before consent. Saving audio requires an enabled recording option.

The participant receives a private result page with a brief and transcript. The draft-review link does not expose those answers.

Test results remain available for up to 24 hours, or until the preview expires. The participant can delete them earlier.

## Regional law

Recording and consent laws differ by country, state, and participant location.

A visible AskInstead notice does not replace consent that the creator must obtain outside the Service.

If local law requires consent from every participant, the creator must obtain that consent.

## Retention and deletion

The recipient sees the applicable retention period. The Service deletes results after that period.

Free results follow the retention period shown before the interview. The Free allowance itself does not expire.

Paid-plan retention can be 90, 180, or 365 days, according to the active plan.

A recipient can request deletion after completion. The organization receives and must review that request.

## Withdrawal

A recipient can stop before completion. Stopping does not always delete information already provided.

The recipient can request deletion where applicable law gives that right.

## Prohibited use

-   Do not ask unlawful, deceptive, threatening, discriminatory, or exploitative questions.
-   Do not collect payment card numbers, passwords, authentication codes, or government secrets.
-   Do not use a recording outside the purpose described to the recipient.
-   Do not use AI output as the only basis for a high-impact decision.
